Mission Estate has a 150 year history of producing outstanding wines at its grand estate in Hawke’s Bay on the east of North Island. The cellar was established in 1851 by Marist missionaries who had come to New Zealand from Lyons in France.
Today, it boasts vineyards in Hawke’s Bay, the prized Gimblett Gravels in particular, and also in beautiful Martinborough to the west. Of all its vineyards, Greenmeadows, planted in 1910, is closest to the coast, and ideal for aromatic Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc. Sea breezes keep the vines cool, extending the ripening period and helping to produce a wine with delicate ripe fruit and wonderful aromatics.
Crafted by top Kiwi winemaker Paul Mooney, this is a superb Pinot Noir. Perfect with white meats.
